My name is Elyse Beach and I am excited about the opportunity to work with you, your child, and your family.
Elyse received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Michigan State University in May of 2018. While at Michigan State University, Elyse was a member of the Honors College and received two undergraduate minors, one in Health Promotion and one in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. In December 2020, Elyse received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Grand Valley State University.
During her time as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Elyse has had experience working in the educational setting, outpatient pediatric speech therapy setting, and providing virtual-therapy services. Within these various settings, Elyse has experience treating a wide variety of speech and language disorders including receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and phonological processing disorders, cognitive communication disorders, pragmatic language disorders, and fluency disorders. Additionally, Elyse has experience working with individuals who present with a wide variety of disorders and delays including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Apraxia of Speech, Cerebral Palsy, Early Childhood Developmental Delay, Fragile X, Down Syndrome, and a variety of other disabilities. Recently, Elyse underwent a training course in the area of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. This is a homeopathic therapy treatment that targets the strength and function of the oral structures needed for feeding, articulation, and daily oral functioning. Treatment in the area of Orofacial Myology includes inter-professional collaboration with local dentists, orthodontists, periodontists, ENT's, and primary care physicians.
